the story of
marie + alex
and engagement photography in Kansas City
~*~
Their first date was like something out of a movie, complete with ice skating and an instant connection. And it didn’t hurt that he also made sure to include a trip to d’Bronx in downtown Kansas City, which she’d mentioned was her favorite pizza place.
Most importantly, the people they’d presented themselves to be when they met online proved to be even more perfect in person. He won her over right away with his sweet charm and sense of humor, and he was smitten by her smarts and kindness (as well as by the fact that she could occasionally be funny as well).
Those traits combined with shared passions for their service-oriented careers, for traveling and cooking, and for spending time with their family, friends and dogs made forging a life together fairly effortless. And as it turned out, proposing to her was also fairly effortless for him — so much so that they joke she planned their engagement without knowing it simply by arranging for their families to spend an evening together at their favorite Irish pub.
Unable to imagine a better setting for popping the question, he asked her to marry him at O’Malley’s in Weston, Missouri, right before Christmas. And she, of course, was unable to give any answer but “yes.”
Marie and Alex: You truly seem like a perfect match and were so fun to work with at your engagement session. I can’t wait to capture more of you on your big day this autumn and am sure many more stunning images are in our future!
