the story of
katie + michael
and engagement photography in Kansas
~*~
With two timezones and seven years between them, these two didn’t stand much chance of meeting – except that her brother is married to his cousin, which ended up making some matchmaking inevitable.
After seven months of Facebook messaging, she finished graduate school and just happened to accept a job far from home for her, but within a couple hours of him. Any fronts they’d previously put on about being practical and keeping things casual quickly fell away, with them traveling every weekend to see one another. Fast forward a year and a half to the present, and they found themselves traveling from Southern California to Kansas for their engagement session!
Full disclosure: She is my cousin, and I was so excited to get to take these photos for them on the family farm where our mothers grew up. Congrats again, Katie and Michael! I can’t wait for your wedding in May!
