Eventually, it didn’t matter that she wasn’t exactly his biggest fan the first time they met, among a group of friends at a bar in Atchison. Because years down the road, they married at the oldest Catholic church in Kansas and then returned to that bar – at which point she definitely liked him quite a lot.
