She didn’t know when she and his sister became friends in grad school that they’d one day be family – but this possibility started to play out at his family’s Fourth of July party three summers ago, when he asked her to be his girlfriend on an occasion appropriately punctuated with fireworks. Fast forward to the present, and on an even more momentous occasion, she became his wife!
