They met in Milan — Milan, Missouri, that is. And while this small Midwestern city might not be as renowned as its Italian counterpart, it’s certainly significant to their story.

Also significant to their story is its slow unfolding — given that they didn’t start dating until a few years after meeting at her friend’s quinceañera. They went on to marry at a courthouse about five years ago, and since then, the Catholic ceremony that’s important to them both may also have sometimes seemed slow in coming. But with plans for their wedding finally in place, they won’t be waiting much longer!

Karen and Carlos: It was wonderful working with you, and I love how your “engagement” photos turned out … even if you aren’t technically engaged. I’m sure your long wait for a traditional wedding will make your big day even more special, and I can’t wait to document you then as well!
