the story of
kristen + john
and engagement photography in Lawrence
~*~
It was the blindest of blind dates — so much so that neither had the other’s phone number.
They’d been set up by a friend of his who was a co-worker of hers, and not having heard from him in the days leading up to the date, she wasn’t even sure that he would show. But in true military fashion, he actually arrived before her at the brewery in Colorado Springs where they ended up spending a very pivotal four hours.
That time was pivotal not only because they finally got each other’s phone number but also because they both left feeling they may have met “the one.” And sure enough, just six months after that super-blind date, they were so sure about each other that he planned an elaborate proposal — one that took them to special sites from their short but significant history, ending with him popping the question at the historic Colorado Springs hotel where they’d had their first kiss.
If that weren’t enough, he gifted her throughout the day with letters from her faraway family and, that evening, even surprised her with their arrival all the way from Kansas. This gathering was a perfect way to celebrate their engagement — and now, they’re looking forward to celebrating an even bigger milestone on their wedding day this fall.
Kristen and John: Even from just the short amount of time I’ve spent with you, I can’t imagine a couple who’s more meant-to-be. I think your connection really came through in these photos, and I can’t wait to capture more of you in November!
