the story of
kathleen + chris
and wedding photography + videography in Topeka
~*~
Their wedding day was almost five years in coming, and the road to arrive here came with some amount of uncertainty — as even something as seemingly simple as deciding on a wedding date hinged upon a visa approval process that wasn’t entirely in their control. But finally, that approval arrived for him to move from Canada to Kansas and for them to take this long-awaited next step!
Kathleen shares:
This day just meant so much to us, having endured a long-distance relationship for more than four and a half years. In many ways, it seemed like it would never get here. But Chris and I knew that wasn’t a possibility, and we held on for the ride.
On our wedding day, we wanted to do something special to honor and thank our parents and grandparents for being such strong and beautiful examples of married love. We have been fortunate, in a world filled with a more modern view that says love only lasts while it’s fun and attractive, to have these couples in our lives whose marriages have all withstood the test of time. Chris and I could never find the words to express how fortunate we are to have been raised in their love and guidance, but hopefully the small tribute we made in our “legacy of love” table helped express our thanks and appreciation. We look forward to building a marriage like theirs that withstands the test of time.
Kathleen and Chris: Although it’s been only over the past year that I’ve witnessed a little of your journey, it’s was so exciting for me, too, when you were finally able to solidify your wedding date — and then of course to capture the day itself! I can’t thank you enough for trusting us to document this occasion that meant so much to you and that you personalized so well, and I hope your photos + film footage are everything that you’d hoped for!
