the story of
darrah + dylan
and wedding photography in Ottawa & Lawrence
~*~
Some girls grow up imagining their wedding; she grew up imagining a career in paleontology. Thus it was perfectly fitting – once she found a fellow scientist with whom to spend her life – that the day they tied the knot would come with plenty of dinosaur details!
And those details were just the start of what made this wedding so personalized. The groom shares:
We chose to be married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa because it is Darrah’s hometown and the church in which she grew up. It was really important to her that Father Fisher perform the ceremony, because during high school, he was one of her favorite people to talk with about her interests in science, reading and many other topics.
Both of us being scientists, and Darrah being a paleontologist, we decided to incorporate a “Jurassic Park” theme. And from there, the rustic, natural setting of Abe and Jake’s Landing and the dinosaur decor followed.
Darrah and Dylan: I think it’s safe to assume that no matter how many weddings we photograph in the future, we’ll never see another quite like yours! Your day really was beautiful and so true to who you are, and it was a treat to capture. Here’s hoping these images help you hold onto it for all your years together!
