the story of
maddie + chris
and wedding photography in Kansas
~*~
When she envisioned her wedding as a little girl, Maddie knew she wanted to marry at the side of her grandfather’s pond. And even though she was living halfway across the country by the time she got engaged, she and Chris made that dream come true by coming home to Kansas to tie the knot.
The only nearby venue they could utilize for their reception was a rural firehouse – which, ironically, they packed so full of people as to likely violate fire code! But with the downpour that came that evening (one that graciously held off until after the ceremony, other than a few minutes of light rain early on), having a dry place to continue the celebration was all that really mattered.
Maddie and Chris: Thanks to all your carefully planned details and the extreme weather, you truly had a quintessentially Kansas wedding! And given that this is where your story began, I can’t imagine a more fitting way to begin your next chapter.
Date: 05.23.15 | Venue: private residence
