the story of

and engagement photography in Blue Springs
~*~
A lot of life’s outcomes depend on timing – and for them, the right timing came with literal fireworks.
They’d been acquaintances for quite a while, with her befriending his sister in grad school. But it wasn’t until she stopped dating someone else that he had a chance to ask her out himself – and then for them to become an official couple at his family’s Fourth of July party in 2020.
Fast forward a bit, and he had an engagement ring he was carrying around, just waiting for the right opportunity to pop the question. None of the suggestions he’d received on how to do it seemed quite right, but what did seem right was capturing the moment in a way that wouldn’t ruin the surprise right off the bat.
He knew having friends or family present to document the event would tip her off, so instead, he opted to take advantage of their home’s security camera. Thus after a night out and in full view of that Ring camera, he gave her a ring in their driveway and asked her to be his wife. Of course, she said yes – and they now have a wedding scheduled for next September!
Alexa and Garret: I think a September engagement session was perfect, since this month will always be an important one for you going forward. And I couldn’t have asked for better light or a more beautiful setting and couple to capture. I hope these images are everything you’d hoped, and I can’t wait to work with you again next year!
