the story of
sammie + derrik
and wedding photography + videography in Oregon
~*~
Looking back on their beginning, they can see a key moment when his laid-back and level-headed personality came through, even after an hour in the cold on a December night trying unsuccessfully to change a tire that was stuck with rust. And looking back on the April day they got engaged, they can also remember the cold – her with sweatpants wrapped around her neck as a scarf when he got down on one knee on top of a peak in South Dakota.
So maybe it shouldn’t have come as a surprise that their wedding day was so unseasonably cold it brought snow in October. It was also no surprise, though, that these two weathered this unexpected turn without letting it put a damper on their spirits or steal from the beauty of their big day.
About their vision for the day, Sammie shares:
We want people to enjoy themselves and spend time with friends and family. Spending time with friends and family is very important to all of us, and we would like everyone to get to know each other. We also love to be outdoors, which is why we chose the venue that we did in the fall. It may rain and it may be chilly, but we hope that everyone still enjoys their time together!
Sammie and Derrik: You were incredibly wonderful and easy to work with even in the less-than-ideal weather, and your joy definitely came through throughout the entire day. We so appreciate you having us capture this milestone and hope your photos and film help you always hold onto it!
