the story of
and wedding photography + videography in Linn Creek
Given that they met at his going-away party, she didn’t have the slightest inkling he’d ever be more than an acquaintance. He was in the Army, after all, while she’d just started college at Mizzou – and the fact that they wouldn’t live anywhere near each other for the next several years didn’t exactly hint at a shared future.
But none of this stopped him from connecting with her on Facebook. And for the next three years, they kept in touch periodically – all while she dated other guys and “friend-zoned him so hard,” she recalls. But she also remembers when everything changed, with their conversations becoming more frequent and him asking her on a date when he came home on leave.
He showed up at her house in Columbia with two bottles of wine, and they went day drinking all around the city. Although this very well could have served as another going-away party (as he was about to be deployed), this time was decidedly different than the first in that they were undeniably an item from that point forward. They made the most of the two weeks they had together then – even making a trip to the winery in the Ozarks that would one day be their wedding venue!
Kaitlin and John: I know this day was a long time in coming, with long distances traveled by many. You did a beautiful job pulling off the formal look you were after, and alongside that classiness was a lot of obvious joy. We were honored to capture all of this and hope your photos and film preserve it for you for many years to come!
