the story of
larissa +jamie
and wedding photography in Kansas City
~*~
What better place to seal a love story that began in Kansas City than at an iconic Kansas City theater! And this was just one of many thoughtful details Larissa and Jamie incorporated into their big day.
Larissa shares:
We wanted an intimate and timeless yet unique wedding full of family and friends. I carried a “something old” from both my abuela in Puerto Rico and from Jamie’s Grandma Betty. The garter – “something blue” – was an homage to Jamie’s alma mater, KU. And Grandma Betty and my Uncle Oscar (who gave away my mom at her wedding) performed the handfasting portion of our ceremony, symbolizing the joining of our two families.
We also wanted to weave in unique parts of our relationship. Jamie proposed wearing a “Flash” superhero T-shirt, and the song “Running Home to You” was an original song created for the “Flash” TV series by the composers of “La La Land.” It and the songs “Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip Moore, “Nowhere Fast” by Old Dominion and “Let It Be Me” by Ray LaMontagne were all played during dinner and were songs Jamie would play on the guitar for me when we first started dating.
Larissa and Jamie: Even with the cold and the rain, I’d say your day turned out picture perfect! Thank you so much for letting us share in it, and may these photos bring back happy memories for many years to come.
