For these two, it took a bit of world travel to tie the knot, then celebrate with friends and family in their hometown before heading home as husband and wife. But undoubtedly, all those miles and the memories that came with them were more than worth it.

About their vision for their wedding and reception, the bride shares:

We wanted a different type of wedding, more intimate, so we decided to get married in Belize. But after relocating to Minnesota shortly after getting engaged, we decided to also do a reception with family and friends. Having moved so quickly, we thought this would be a good chance to spend time with those we hadn’t gotten to see and say goodbye to beforehand.

We chose Lake Shawnee as the location because it was where Taylor first told me he loved me. Another piece of our relationship we incorporated were donut holes (in lieu of a traditional wedding cake): When we were in college and broke, we would go to Daylight Donuts after work and get their 60 donut holes with 30 free, then get chocolate milk at Dillons. That would be our dinner with a movie, then breakfast for the next two days.
