the story of
judy +tobi
and wedding photography in Kansas City & Platte City
~*~
The first time they met face-to-face, it felt like they’d known one another for ages.
That meeting took place on New Year’s Day in 2016, about six months after Tobi Dawodu come across Judy Castro’s profile on Match.com. Given how far her home in Texas was from his in Kansas City, he knew a romantic relationship might not be in the cards for them – but he was too captivated by her to let low odds stand in the way of trying.
As it turned out, whatever they lacked in the favor of odds they more than made up for in the favor of God, which they increasingly sensed in their relationship as the months went by. And one year to the day after they met in Dallas, he popped the question at the side of a horse-drawn carriage in Kansas City.
That fairytale day led to another on 07.07.17 – a date they picked specifically for the number seven’s symbol of completion or perfection.
“And we believe God is completing the promise he gave each of us about our marriage to each other,” Judy says.
Adding to the significance of this occasion was a traditional Nigerian engagement party honoring the groom’s heritage, which took place the night before they tied the knot. Judy and Tobi: Getting to witness and document both of these events was a huge honor. Thank you for letting us share in them, and may these images bring back fond memories for all your years together!
